Before Sharpsburg

He enlisted in New Orleans, LA on 23 June 1861 and mustered as a Private in Captain Austin's Company, 1st Regiment Polish Briagade. They were re-designated as Company G of the 13th Louisiana Infantry in August and to Company D, 14th Louisiana Infantry on 21 September 1861.

On the Campaign

He was sent to a hospital in Frederick, MD by 12 September, left behind, and captured there.

The rest of the War

He was in US Army General Hospital #1 in Frederick, MD to 19 September, then probably sent to Fort McHenry for exchange. He was absent, sick, at the end of October 1862, with no later record in his service file.
