Before Sharpsburg
From Houston, he was in Company A. Roster says he was a Drummer, and reduced to Private in February 1862. He was wounded (arm) at Seven Pines on 1 June 1862 and again in a "skirmish near Richmond" on 9 June.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded and captured in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
He died of his wound on 1 October 1862 in a "Federal hospital". He was "buried west of George Line's house" near the battlefield, and later reinterred to the Washington Confederate Cemetery (c. 1868).
