Before Sharpsburg

In 1860 he was a 35 year old weaver at Columbus, Colorado County, TX. He enlisted there with Lt. Roberdeau on 14 March 1862 and mustered as a Private in Company B, 5th Texas Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862, "left on the field," and captured there.

The rest of the War

He signed paroles at Sharpsburg on 30 September and at Shepherdstown, VA on 25 November 1862. He was "last heard from" at Shepherdstown, VA and "supposed to be dead."
