Before Sharpsburg

He enlisted at Camp Anderson (or Leon) near Tallhassee, FL on 4 March 1862 and mustered as a Private in Company K, 5th Florida Infantry. He was on sick furlough in July and August.

On the Campaign

He was sent to a hospital in Frederick, MD on 9 September, left behind, and captured there on the 12th.

The rest of the War

He was in US Army General Hospital #1 in Frederick, MD to 22 September and afterward was a prisoner at Fort Delaware to 2 October, then sent to Aikens' Landing, VA for exchange. He was admitted to CS General Hospital #12 in Richmond, VA on 13 October, sent to the Camp WInder Hospital on 21 October, then on to the Florida Hospital there, where he died of typhoid fever on 5 January 1863.
