Before Sharpsburg
From Baldwin County, he mustered as Private, Company H, 4th Georgia Infantry on 26 April 1861. He was appointed 4th Corporal on 20 May and 3rd Corporal on 1 September 1861.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in the thigh in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862 and captured.
The rest of the War
He died of wounds at the White House field hospital on the Line Farm in Sharpsburg, possibly later the same day.
