Before Sharpsburg

In 1860 he was a 21 year old planter on his widowed mother Nancy's plantation (14 slaves) in Burke County, GA. He enlisted in Waynesboro, GA on 29 April 1861 and mustered on 2 May in Augusta, GA as a Private in Company A, 3rd Georgia Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
