Before Sharpsburg

In 1860 he was a 40 year old farmer at Eufaula in Barbour County, AL. He enlisted at Fort Valley, GA on 27 April 1861 and mustered in Augusta on 4 May as a Private in Company E, 3rd Georgia Infantry. He was appointed Sergeant in 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was mortally wounded at Manassas Gap, VA on 23 July 1863 and died afterward, date not found.
