A 22 year old farmer, he enlisted at Camilus as Private, Company H, 122nd New York Infantry on 2 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He died of typhoid fever at Downsville, MD on 19 October 1862.

After the War

He was reinterred from burial in Hagerstown, MD to the new National Cemetery in about 1867.
