Before Antietam
He enlisted in Company G, 155th Pennsylvania Infantry on 28 August 1862.
On the Campaign
He arrived on the field with his Division on 18 September 1862. He died, probably of disease, on 3 October 1862.
After the War
He was originally buried on the battlefield but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
