Before Antietam

Age 19, he enlisted in Meadville as Private, Company F, 9th Pennsylvania Reserve Infantry on 24 February 1862.

On the Campaign

He was with his Company in Maryland but died of disease at the hospital in Smoketown, MD on 7 October 1862.

After the War

He was reinterred in the new National Cemetery about 1867.
