Before Antietam

He enlisted in Company B, 4th US Infantry on 21 April 1860 at Bucksport, CA at about 30 years of age.

On the Campaign

He was admitted to the US Army hospital in the German Reformed Church in Frederick, MD on 1 November 1862 with chronic diarrhea and died there on 5 December 1862.

After the War

He was originally buried in Frederick but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
