Age 42, he enlisted in Geneseo as a Private in Company D, 104th New York Infantry on 7 February 1862.

On the Campaign

He died, probably of disease, at the Smoketown hospital on 12 November 1862.

After the War

He was originally buried near the hospital at Smoketown but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.

Burial information from the Antietam Cemetery History.1 His service from New York,2 which says he was discharged for disability on 10 November at Smoketown. His gravesite is on Findagrave.
