Before Antietam

In 1860 he was a 21 year old machinist in Meriden, CT. He enlisted on 18 September 1861 and mustered as a Private in Company K, 8th Connecticut Infantry on 23 September.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

After the War

He was reinterred from his original burial on the Antietam battlefield to the National Cemetery in about 1867.
