Before Antietam

Age 31, he enlisted on 19 September 1861 in Perryville and mustered as Private, Company I, 53rd Pennsylvania Infantry on 10 October in Harrisburg.

On the Campaign

He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 23 November with chronic rheumatism and died there on 26 November 1862.

After the War

He was reinterred from his original burial in Frederick to the National Cemetery in about 1867.
