Before Antietam

Age 21, from Carroll, he enlisted as a Sergeant in Company H, 9th New Hampshire Infantry on 26 June 1862.

On the Campaign

He died of disease at Big Spring Hospital on the Geeting Farm near Keedysville, MD on 10 October 1862.

After the War

He was originally buried on the field near the hospital but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
