A 30 year old blacksmith, he enlisted on 10 May 1861 in Buffalo to serve two years and mustered as Private, Company B, 21st New York Infantry on 20 May.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in the hip in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862 and died the next day.
