Before Antietam

Age 21, he enlisted in Brooklyn on 26 April 1861 and mustered as Private, Company F 10th New York Infantry on 30 April. He was promoted to Sergeant, date not given.

On the Campaign

He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 10 October 1862 with typhoid fever and died there on 16 November 1862.

After the War

He was originally buried in Frederick but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
