Before Antietam
He mustered as Private, Company I, 130th Pennsylvania Infantry on 9 August 1862.
On the Campaign
He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 23 November 1862 with typhoid fever and died there on 14 December 1862.
After the War
He was originally buried in Frederick but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
