Before Antietam
Age 26, he enlisted in Elizabeth on 1 July 1861 and mustered into service as a Teamster in Company F, 28th Pennsylvania Infantry on 6 July in Philadelphia.
On the Campaign
He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 24 September but died there of disease on 28 November 1862.
After the War
He was reinterred from his original burial in Frederick to the National Cemetery in about 1867.
