Before Antietam

A 20 year old laborer in Beaver County, he enlisted as a Private in Company E, 134th Pennsylvania Infantry on 14 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 4 November but died there of typhoid fever on 22 December 1862.

After the War

He was originally buried in Frederick but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
