On the Campaign
He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 23 November 1862 with chronic diarrhea and died there on 16 December 1862.
After the War
He was originally buried in Frederick but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
