Before Antietam

He enlisted at age 18 in Company A, 155th Pennsylvania Infantry on 23 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He arrived on the field with his Division on 18 September 1862. He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 6 November 1862 but died there, probably of disease, on 18 November 1862.

After the War

He was originally buried in Frederick but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
