Before Antietam

He was 42 years old when he enlisted in Rochester, and he mustered in as Private, Company K, 108th New York Infantry on 12 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862. He was probably buried on or near the battlefield, and reinterred in the National Cemetery during or before 1867.

The rest of the War

He died of his wounds on 23 September 1862.
