Before Antietam
Age 28, he enlisted on 18 August 1861 in Kingston and mustered as Private, Company F, 20th New York State Militia (80th Infantry) on 5 September.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was buried on the battlefield [map] and reinterred in the new National Cemetery in about 1867.
