Age 21, from Farmington, he mustered as Private in Company L, 1st Maine Cavalry on 2 September 1862.

On the Campaign

He died of typhoid fever in Frederick, MD on 18 November 1862.

After the War

He was reinterred from his original burial in Frederick to the National Cemetery in about 1867.
