Before Antietam
A 25 year old seaman in Belfast, ME, he enlisted 1 July and mustered as Private, Company D, 35th Massachusetts Infantry on 16 August 1862.
On the Campaign
He died of disease in Sharpsburg on 12 October 1862.
After the War
He was reinterred from his original burial on the Antietam battlefield to the National Cemetery during or before 1867.
