Before Antietam
He mustered as Private, Company K, 131st Pennsylvania Infantry on 7 August 1862 in Harrisburg.
On the Campaign
He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 5 November 1862 and died there, probably of disease, on 18 November.
After the War
He was originally buried in Frederick but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
