Before Antietam
Age 21, he enlisted on 6 August 1862 in Oxford and mustered as Private, Company C, 124th Pennsylvania Infantry on 11 August in Harrisburg.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
After the War
He was reinterred from his original burial on the battlefield to the National Cemetery in about 1867.
