An 18 year old from North Salem, he mustered as Private, Company A, 27th Indiana Infantry on 12 September 1862.

On the Campaign

He was with his Company in Maryland but died of disease at the Smoketown Hospital on 5 (or 24) December 1862.

After the War

He was reinterred from his original burial at Smoketown, MD to the new National Cemetery in 1866 or 1867.
