Before Antietam

A 25 year old lumberman, he enlisted in Bangor, ME as Private, Company B, 17th US Infantry on 16 August 1861 to serve 5 years.

On the Campaign

He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 24 October 1862 with typhoid fever and died there on 31 October 1862.

After the War

He was originally buried in Frederick but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
