Before Antietam
He enlisted at age 18 on 8 August 1862, and mustered in as Private, Company F, 108th New York Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 26 November for chronic diarrhea but died there on 9 December 1862.
After the War
He was originally buried in Frederick but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
