Before Antietam

He mustered as a recruit Private in the 3rd Indiana Cavalry on 22 February. He was probably assigned to Company B.

On the Campaign

He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 11 October 1862 with typhoid fever and died there two days later.

After the War

He was originally buried in Frederick but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
