Age 21 years, he enlisted 22 October 1861 at Bergen and mustered in as Private, Company G, 33rd New York Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was left behind (without further military record) and died of disease at Hagerstown, MD on 21 November 1862.
After the War
He was initially buried in Hagerstown and was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
