On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862. His father Samuel M Roach filed for his final pay in October 1862.

The rest of the War

He was originally buried "in N.E. corner of Morgan Miller's orchard."

After the War

He was probably reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
