He was mortally wounded at Boonsboro, MD on 14 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He died of wounds in Boonsboro on 31 (or 27) October 1862, and was originally buried "at the Disciple church in Boonsboro [Maryland]". Probably reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
