Before Sharpsburg

A 43 year old sailor in New Orleans, he enlisted as Private, Company H, 10th Louisiana Infantry on 22 July 1861 at Camp Moore, LA. He was promoted to Corporal on 1 January 1862 and Sergeant, date not given.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded and captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September.

The rest of the War

Originally buried "East of J. C. Grove's warehouse, on hill near a new house". Probably reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
