On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was originally buried " in N.E. corner of Mrs. Lucker's house-field" on the battlefield at Sharpsburg. Probably reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
