Before Sharpsburg
From Meriwether County, he mustered as Private, Company E, 28th Georgia Infantry on 10 September 1861. He was wounded at Seven Pines on 31 May 1862.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded and captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September.
The rest of the War
He died later in the year on the Line Farm, Sharpsburg. He was probably buried originally on the farm and reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
