Before Sharpsburg

A 27 year old farmer in Mt. Lebanon, LA, he enlisted as Private, Company C, 9th Louisiana Infantry on 7 July 1861 at Camp Moore, LA. He was promoted to 2nd Sergeant 28 December 1861 and commissioned First Lieutenant, date not given.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was originally buried "in N.E. corner of Mrs. Lucker's house-field" on the battlefield at Sharpsburg [map].

After the War

He was probably reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
