An 18 year old farmer in Buck Horn, LA, he enlisted as Private, Company C, 9th Louisiana Infantry 5 April7 July 1861 at Camp Moore, LA. He was absent, sick, in October and November 1861.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

Originally buried " in N.E. corner of Mrs. Lucker's house-field" on the battlefield at Sharpsburg. Probably reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
