On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September. He probably died the same day.
The rest of the War
Originally buried "In Mrs. Lucker's [Locker's] second field south of barn on west side of a Large rockbrake" on the battlefield at Sharpsburg. Probably reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
