Before Sharpsburg
In 1860 he was a 27 year old farm worker near Tampa in Hillsborough County, FL. He enlisted in Company K, 8th Florida Infantry in April 1862.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
He died on 28 September and was originally buried "on west side of, and in the cemetery at Frederick." Probably reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
