He enlisted as Private in Company F, 10th Georgia Infantry on 11 May 1861. Later appointed Corporal.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded and captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September.
The rest of the War
Died from wounds in Lavinia Grove's Farm, Maryland hospital in 1862. Originally buried on the field at Sharpsburg near "Mrs. Lucker's" [Locker] barn. Probably reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
