He was a 42 year old seaman living in New Orleans when he enlisted in Company B, 8th Louisiana Infantry on 22 June 1861 at Camp Moore, LA.

On the Campaign

He was wounded and captured in action, reportedly on 12 September 1862 at Frederick, MD.

The rest of the War

He was admitted to the US Army General Hospital at Frederick, Md on 12 September, and died on the 15th from a gun shot wound.
