Before Sharpsburg
He enrolled as 2nd Lieutenant, Company E, 10th Georgia Infantry on 20 May 1861 and was elected 1st Lieutenant on 16 October 1861.
On the Campaign
He was captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was exchanged at Aiken's Landing, VA on 8 May 1862 and returned to duty. He was killed at Gettysburg, PA on 2 July 1863.
