Before Antietam
From Rocky Hill, he enlisted as a Musician in Company C, 16th Connecticut Infantry on 7 August 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded by a gunshot to his leg in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 1 October and sent on to Baltimore on 31 October 1862. He was discharged for disability on 21 December 1862.
