Before Antietam
From Suffield, CT, he enlisted on 11 August and mustered as Private, Company D, 16th Connecticut Infantry on 24 August 1862.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
After the War
His mother Olive began receiving a pension of $8 a month in April 1868 for his service, later consolidated with one for his father.
