From Canton, he enlisted in Company E, 16th Connecticut Infantry on 24 July 1862, mustering-in in August.
On the Campaign
On the Maryland Campaign and possibly (but not certainly) at Antietam. He died at Weverton Hospital, near Knoxville, MD on 13 November 1862 of pneumonia.
