Before Antietam
From Berlin, he mustered into service as Private in Company G, 16th Connecticut Infantry on 9 August 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in the leg in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
The rest of the War
He was treated at the German Reform Church in Sharpsburg. He died from the effects of his wounds in May 1865.
