Before Antietam
From East Windsor, he enlisted as a Private in Company G, 16th Connecticut Infantry on 5 August 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was captured at Plymouth, NC on 20 April 1864. He was a prisoner at Andersonville, GA, and was paroled on 10 December, but he died on 27 December 1864 at Camp Parole, Annapolis, MD.
